Need a hand in bringing ideas to life?

No matter where you find yourself in the story writing process, editing can help solidify decisions, simplify your delivery, and assist in presenting your best foot forward to your intended audience. In starting an editor relationship, the first step typically involves a written assessment of strengths and weaknesses that outlines any further effort required from the author. Following agreed upon boundaries and expectations, subsequent drafts then often pass three main phases:

* DEVELOPMENTAL >>> Addresses plot structure, central character arcs and relationships, style and thematic questions, pacing issues, missing elements, and overall inspirations and purpose.
* COPY/LINE EDITING >>> Improves mechanics and readability of the author's prose, looking for grammatical or factual errors, style consistency, and any concerns with point of view, diction, or flow, importantly maintaining developmental choices.
* PROOFREADING >>> Polishes the final offering of the manuscript, particularly a thorough check on spelling, punctuation, and any other typos before publication.

The length of time within each or even necessity of certain stages can vary for many reasons, like skill level or genre, but I believe the most crucial element for success always goes back to open and honest communication. Find more detailed information below for editing services offered, including negotiable pricing, preferred client preparations, and miscellaneous additional options.
